ADGM Business Address Services: What a Good Package Should Include
What an ADGM business address service should include, why the address must sit inside ADGM's jurisdiction, and the questions to ask a provider before you sign.

How to renew an ADGM commercial licence on Al Reem Island: the steps, the lease document you need, the fees, and the annual filings that follow.
ADGM licence renewal Al Reem Island companies face is the same annual process as anywhere in ADGM: renew the commercial licence on the registration anniversary through the Online Registry Solution, upload a valid Certificate of Registration of Lease, and pay the renewal fee. ADGM's guidance also lists a lease or consent letter, a data protection renewal, and a confirmation statement as the other annual obligations, each with its own deadline.
This checklist covers every annual filing for an ADGM company, the fees ADGM has published, the penalties for late filing, and how your registered address and lease fit in. It is written for owners and managers of ADGM companies based on Al Reem Island, but it applies to the whole jurisdiction.
ADGM's Registration Authority sets out the renewal steps in its commercial licence renewal guidance. To renew a commercial licence on Al Reem Island, or anywhere in ADGM, the steps are:
The licence is renewed yearly, on the entity's registration anniversary. ADGM's renewal guidance does not state when the renewal window opens, so start well before the anniversary rather than on it.
Because lease registration is mandatory, and the renewal application asks for the certificate. A signed agreement alone is not what the renewal form asks for; it asks for the Certificate of Registration of Lease, issued once the lease is registered. If the lease expires before the licence anniversary, the registered lease has to be renewed first.
That makes lease dates part of your compliance calendar. AccessRP allows a lease renewal to be started up to 90 days before expiry, as explained in our AccessRP lease registration guide. A sensible habit is to check the lease end date three to four months before the licence anniversary, so the registered lease covers the renewal.
Companies using a shared business address should note the consent letter route in ADGM's guidance. It applies to entities that share an office with a service provider, holding company, or parent company, and the right document depends on your arrangement. If you are unsure which applies, ask your workspace provider and ADGM before the renewal date. Our article on the questions to ask before applying for an ADGM licence covers how workspace type affects documents.
In practice, ADGM lease registration Al Reem Island tenants complete through AccessRP is what produces the certificate the renewal form needs. The same lease supports the registered office Al Reem Island companies declare to ADGM, so the address on the licence, the lease, and the confirmation statement should all match. A mismatch is one of the simplest ways to delay a renewal, and one of the easiest to avoid by checking the three documents side by side a month ahead.
| Category | Annual renewal (USD) |
|---|---|
| Non-Financial | 5,000 |
| Retail | 2,000 |
| Financial | 16,200 |
| Tech Startups | 1,500 |
A separate Data Protection fee of USD 300 applies at registration and at each annual renewal. Fee schedules change, so confirm the current amount for your category on ADGM's website before paying. Our ADGM company setup costs for overseas founders guide shows how renewal fits with the rest of your yearly costs.
These are the same ADGM renewal fees that apply to companies registered on Al Reem Island.
The licence is only one of several yearly obligations. ADGM's annual filings page lists these ADGM annual filings Al Reem Island companies must keep track of:
| Filing | Who | Deadline and cost |
|---|---|---|
| Commercial licence renewal | All entities | On the registration anniversary; fee depends on category |
| Data protection renewal | All entities | Annually; USD 300, with a possible USD 750 fine if late |
| Confirmation statement | Companies and limited liability partnerships, not branches or foundations | Within one month of the incorporation anniversary; USD 100, with a USD 300 fine if late |
| Annual accounts | Companies, with different rules by size | Per the Accounting Reference Period |
The confirmation statement confirms that the Registrar's information is accurate, including the registered office, business activities, directors, secretary, and shareholdings. For a company incorporated on 15 October, ADGM's example is a filing due by 15 November of the following year. ADGM states that the Registrar generally has no power to waive the late fine. Pending changes do not excuse a late filing.
Entities renew their adherence to the Data Protection Regulations 2021 each year through Maintain Company. Our article on workspace type and ADGM data protection obligations explains how the obligation follows the licence, not the building.
Entities must keep adequate accounting records prepared under International Accounting Standards. ADGM states that small companies, with turnover of USD 13.5 million or less and 35 or fewer employees, file a balance sheet only, while medium-sized and general companies file audited accounts and a director's report. Branches and foundations keep records but do not file them annually.
This renewal calendar applies to every ADGM company, including those based in Addax Tower on Al Reem Island.
Corporate tax is separate. FTA registration and filing are handled with the UAE Federal Tax Authority, not through ADGM, as covered in our overview of business support services on Al Reem Island.
Your registered address is part of the renewal and the confirmation statement, so it has to be current and backed by a registered lease. A business address Al Reem Island companies use for ADGM purposes sits inside ADGM's jurisdiction under Cabinet Resolution No. 41 of 2023, and the same lease and renewal rules apply as on Al Maryah Island.
